Eco Roadshow

Our Eco Roadshows are fun and lively, yet still academic. In an hour long visiting show we teach key stage 2 pupils about:

The environmental issues and situation
Wildlife, animals and habitats
Biodiversity and in-school project ideas
Simple things to do at school and at home
FairTrade and global citizenship
Waste, recycling and sustainability

The aim of these Eco Roadshows is to introduce pupils to environmental ideas and try to inspire positive action and enthusiasm in young citizens for their planet- a balanced view is therefore also given. Content covers many KS2 national curriculum topics in Science, PHSE and Geography.

The presentation includes fun and games (Mexican waves, animal impressions, balloon throwing and demonstrations), a PowerPoint, videos, music and a dance to help pupils remember the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and much more! It is presented by 5 sixth form pupils aged 16 and 17.

Over the first year of offering this service, we have presented to over 700 pupils from 8 primary schools. Having also hosted our Eco Primary Day conference for pupils from 9 primary schools, we are now very experienced in delivering to younger pupils and being teenagers ourselves we feel we can easily connect with our audience to get our eco message across.
